I am humbled and honored to be chosen as the Head of Schools for First Baptist Academy. My journey involving FBA began as a church member the first time Pastor Phil Jones shared his vision for a Christian school as a ministry of our church. We then joined the FBA family as parents when our daughter Henley started Kindergarten.
During that time, the Lord began to stir a desire in my heart to be involved in Christian education, and I accepted an offer to serve as the Director of Athletics and Development. I have a Bachelor of Science in Religion, a Masters of Education, and a Post Masters Licensure in School Counseling.
Prior to my time at FBA, I worked as a Guidance Counselor at Powell High School from 2010-2017. While at Powell, I led the implementation of the Freshman Academy, served as the Building Level Testing Coordinator, and worked on teams that led several initiatives targeting the transition of students between middle and high school.
My wife Lauren and I have been married for over 11 years and have 3 children, Henley (age 9), Reese (age 7), and Graysen (age 4). We have been members of First Baptist Church of Powell for over 25 years and have served in numerous ministries during that time. Currently, we assist with the Welcome Ministry and lead the Young Adult Singles Lifegroup.
My desire as the Head of School is to establish a culture that is based on collaboration between teachers, parents, administrative staff, school, and church leadership. I am excited to serve in this role and look forward to what God has in store for the future of FBA! Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you may have or any way I can be of assistance during this time of transition.
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” -Jeremiah 29:11
