Schedule a Tour

The greatest way to learn more about First Baptist Academy is to schedule a tour. This is the first step in the admissions process and allows us to show you our facilities, interact with students, and show you what it looks like to filter all aspects of life through the lens of the Gospel. During the admissions process, our staff works with each prospective family to ensure you have as much assistance as possible. We understand that this process can seem overwhelming to new students, and our goal is to walk you through each step to help make the transition as easy as possible. We look forward to meeting you and your family and sharing more about the work God is doing here at First Baptist Academy!

Non-Discrimination Policy

First Baptist Academy admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. First Baptist Academy does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.

Admissions Process

The admissions process described below is for all applicants to the Lower School (Pre-K - 4), Early Middle School (5 - 6), Middle School (7 - 8), and Upper School (9-12). We have created a thorough admissions process not to be exclusive, but to be inclusive to families who strongly desire an excellent classical education that fosters a biblical worldview. As a ministry of First Baptist Powell, First Baptist Academy strives to equip students to impact the world for Christ. We teach every subject through a biblical worldview with a truth-based and Christ-centered approach while allowing students to grow spiritually through all aspects of academia.

Step 3: application

Submit your online application for admission including:

○ A $150 application fee (non-refundable)

STEP 4: admissions placement test

The admissions placement test is usually given during the school week. Middle and upper school students are required to complete an essay with the prompt of “Why I want to attend FBA”. Upper School students will be interviewed at the time of placement testing.

STEP 5: parent interview

Parents will be required to schedule an interview with the Divisional Principal along with the Director of Admissions. This will be completed after the time of the admissions placement test. The purpose of this interview is for discussing the student’s and family’s goals with the school’s methods and philosophy, and is an integral part of the admissions process.

Step 6: Admission Decision

After FBA has received the completed application (including completed recommendations), testing and interviews are completed, the Admissions Committee will carefully review the application packet and determine admissions status. You will receive notification from the Admissions Committee within two weeks of the final parent interview and completed admissions packet.

Financial Aid Process

FBA partners with FACTS Financial Management, which processes and analyzes our financial aid applications. Financial aid is awarded on a first-come/first-serve basis. The deadline for returning families to apply is May 1. New families may apply for financial aid AFTER they have submitted an application for admission. New families must apply for aid within two weeks of their acceptance date. FBA complies with all TSSAA rules for financial aid.
