Beyond a Brick: 6th-8th Robotics Camp

Category: Extracurricular

Date: June 16, 2022

Time: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Beyond a Brick is hosting a 4-day summer robotics camp for 6th-8th grade students. The goal is to expose students to the world of robotics by offering fun and challenging activities centered around coding, mechanical robotic engineering, problem solving, and team building. They have a strong partnership with First Robotics, which allows students opportunities beyond the summer camp experience. Tuition for our camps is $180.00 per student, which includes all the equipment needed for each camp (robots, computers, etc). A percentage of the tuition will be donated to the FBA STEM program.

Students will use coding and building strategies to earn the highest rank,“Yokozuna” (grand champion) in sumo wrestling. LEGO® Mindstorm EV3 robots are used to challenge the competitor and force them outside the ring. Students will learn how to use sensors like ultra sonic and color in the designing of their SUMO Bot. Do you have the skills to stay inside the ring till the end?  This camp is an introductory level to EV3 robotics.
