Each November, our students participate in a week long focusing in on local and worldwide missions. During the same week, First Baptist Church hosts a World Missions Celebration where our students assist in preparing and serving during this special weekend dedicated to missionaries who serve around the globe. Our students are involved in a variety of projects and service opportunities to foster and encourage the Missions-Focused core value. Our deisre and goal is to emphasize God's call to take the gospel to all of the world (Matthew 28:19-20). We are committed to affording FBA faculty, staff and students with the equipping and opportunities to personally participate in the fulfillment of that command.
FBA Senior students have the opportunity to travel during a portion of their Spring Break to serve alongside a North American Mission Board missionary family. During the week students learn and experience first hand the work and ministry of serving different ethnicities, socio-economic groups, and geographical barriers in order to share the gospel.
From Pre-K thru 12th Grade, students at FBA experience a variety avenues to serve each other and the community. Below are some of the opportunites students are involved in throughout the school year in ministry:
- Peer Mentoring
- Local Knoxville Elementary School service projects
- Mission of Hope
- Knoxville Fire Department
- Inner-City Ministries
